IMI Level 3 Award in Automotive Refrigerant Handling

This one-day programme offers experienced automotive Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) technicians the opportunity to develop new skills and enhance existing ones. It also incorporates Unit AC1 (K/600/3391) Refrigerant Handling (EC842-2006). This unit is approved by Defra for MAC technicians (working with cars and car-derived vans) who handle F-gas.

Description

Delivery is one day including theory, examination, and practical assessment at our technical center or this can be delivered at your own premises if suitable facilities are available. 

Course Content

 Principles of air conditioning

 Environmental issues and regulations.

 Components, equipment, and procedures of recovery.

Assessment

Online Multiple-Choice Exam, Practical Task Assessment.

Qualification

Those who successfully complete the one-day course and meet the relevant assessment criteria will be certified with the IMI Level 3 Award in Automotive Refrigerant Handling.

This handling qualification (approved by DEFRA), meets the EU F-gas regulations.

Eligbility

Technicians must have already achieved their Refrigerant Handling unit (AC1)

It contains the knowledge of the dangers surrounding hydrogen vehicles (all variations) and the precautions to avoid potential injury.
